A prayer minister serves individuals by helping them mature in Christ through utilizing Scriptural principles, enabling them to connect with Jesus through listening prayer. A prayer minister listens then prays with an individual who is voluntarily seeking help for patterns of bad fruit in their life.
In facilitating these sessions the prayer minister may give assignments to help discover areas of unforgiveness, inner vows, and lies in their belief systems where there is spiritual wounding. These assignments may consist of Biblically based videos, books, cassettes, work sheets and/or reading Bible passages.
Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, a prayer minister asks Jesus to bring truth to replace lies, prompt the individual to pray and seek forgiveness when convicted to do so, and renounce inner vows as they are exposed.
The prayer minister does not diagnose conditions, prescribe medicines or administer therapy. He/she does not perform the duties of a medical doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist or professional licensed counselors.
Journey To Joy Ministries operates under the guidance of a Board of Directors and a Pastoral consultant and may receive guidance from them when issues or problems arise.
The individual receiving ministry will have all information shared with the prayer minister kept in confidence. The exceptions would be if the individual conveys information listed on the Ministry Release and Disclaimer Form that must be reported to the proper authorities, or gives written permission for the information to be released.
